OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Laser Operator II to safely perform laser cutting for a variety of materials and other company requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand handling and disposal lens
  • Understand reasons for cut quality
  • Ability to change gas cylinders and know correct valves to close and correct pressure settings
  • Understand and edit program code and know when and when not to edit
  • Set-up jobs for the most efficient results-material thickness/type and cutting edge used
  • Understand and be able to teach the curves, brush the nozzle
  • Ability to set the laser diode at the starting point of cut
  • Ability to create production plans
  • Ability to save abortion point, reenter from saved abortion
  • Understand and able to grind/replace slats
  • Know how to remove and replace heads (use green tape)
  • Perform postproduction/recuts
  • Work with Engineering Department on NPI and/or first article parts
  • Meet or exceed company PPM level standards by consistently producing quality work
  • Ability to trouble shoot and resolve issues in assigned work center
  • Achieve and maintain any certifications required in the work area
  • Cross trained in multiple workstations
  • Assist in preventative maintenance of the machines

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years in a metal fabrication setting
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders
  • Handle fast-paced work
  • Demonstrate dependability with good attendance

EDUCATION

  • Highschool Diploma

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
