Job summary

Precision Pulley and Idler is hiring a Laser Specialist in Corning, IA to program and operate a laser-operated machine and produce parts per specifications.

The role requires reading blueprints, measuring parts with micrometers and calipers, and maintaining equipment. It is an on-site 1st shift position reporting to the Production Supervisor.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and prior CNC/laser experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret electronic or written blueprints/specifications.
• Accurately use measuring devices including tape measure, micrometer, caliper, and dial indicator.
• Possess basic computer skills and operate manual/PC controls.
• Work independently to meet deadlines with good problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Operate and program laser cutter using manual and computer controls.
• Load and unload materials according to machine specifications.
• Maximize material usage by minimizing scrap or waste.
• Verify part accuracy against specifications using measuring instruments and prints.
• Coordinate production of parts with other departments.
• Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping.
