Job summary

API Heat Transfer is seeking a First Shift Laser Operator to join our production team. You will set up and operate laser equipment, load/unload materials, and run production programs to meet customer specifications.

Qualified candidates have at least 2 years of manufacturing experience, can read blueprints, perform basic math, and solve problems while multitasking. Safety and quality are emphasized in daily duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform basic math.
• Strong problem solving, multitasking, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate laser equipment.
• Load and unload material and run production programs.
• Ensure orders meet schedule while maximizing machine run time.
• Read drawings and ensure parts meet customer specifications.
• Inspect quality and perform minor equipment adjustments.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks.
• Set up future jobs on other lasers while machines run.

What You Will Do:

The Laser Operator will manage laser operations including setting up and operating laser, loading and unloading material, and running the required production programs.

• Ensure that customer orders are completed according to schedule, while maximizing machine run time and productivity.
• Read part drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure parts are cut to customer specifications.
• Modify cut conditions, speeds, feeds and focus to ensure quality cut, and optimal machine operation
• Measure and inspect dimensions of in-process and finished product using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications for quality.
• Resolve quality and mechanical problems, making minor equipment adjustments as needed.
• Inspect and maintain workplace and equipment for compliance with safety requirements.
• Perform preventative maintenance on a daily and weekly basis.
• Set up future jobs on other lasers while machines are operating and cutting.

What You Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum 2+ years’ work experience in manufacturing environment.
• Ability to problem solve, multitask, and work independently.
• Ability to read blueprints, proficient math and computer skills.
