Tool-Flo Manufacturing Inc., a leading manufacturer of precision carbide cutting tools for the oil/gas, automotive, aerospace, and medical industries is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Laser Marking Machine Operator to join our growing team in Houston, TX.

As a Laser Marking Machine Operator at Tool-Flo, you will play a crucial role in the final identification and quality of our high-precision products. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining our state-of-the-art laser marking machines, ensuring that all parts are accurately and consistently marked according to specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate laser marking machines to accurately identify small parts manufactured in our facility.
  • Load and unload parts, ensuring proper alignment and secure fixturing for the marking process.
  • Select appropriate laser programs, adjust machine parameters (e.g., laser beam intensity, speed, focal point) based on material type and marking requirements.
  • Monitor the laser marking process to ensure accurate, clear, and efficient markings, and detect any issues or malfunctions.
  • Perform visual inspections of marked parts to verify quality, legibility, and adherence to design specifications.
  • Execute packaging and labeling duties for marked parts, ensuring proper organization and traceability.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on laser marking machines, including cleaning and basic troubleshooting, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Maintain accurate records of material processed, machine performance, and any issues encountered.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and quality control standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO) to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve production goals.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating machinery, preferably in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including Windows and Windows-based programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and design specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues.
  • Capable of standing for long periods of time.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Laser Marking Machine Operator.
  • Knowledge of different material properties (e.g., carbide, steel, aluminum).
  • Experience with quality control procedures and measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
