Job Summary: The Laser Operator's primary responsibility is to laser-cut quality flat and rotary die boards and to perform regular maintenance on the laser cutting machines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities-Additional duties may be assigned

  • Prepare flat and rotary die boards by reviewing work orders, specifications ,and blueprints
  • Verify CAD files match customer order requirements
  • Test burn tolerances and make required adjustments to machine settings
  • Check the -coded pens and pointages on the computer
  • Change gas levels and replace tanks when needed
  • Cleaning machine optics and general housekeeping of work area
  • Identify nonconforming material during inspection activities and issue RMA requests
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Documents actions by completing production, quality and maintenance logs
  • Document processing time on job cards and in CyFrame
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Not a complete list

  • High School graduate or GED Equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32"
  • Practical understanding of manufacturing, equipment and workflow
  • Minimal knowledge of power tool operations
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Works independently

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for duration of shift
  • Frequently walking back and forth between departments
  • Must be able to hear to listen to instructions
  • Frequently lifting/carrying die boards (50+ pounds)
  • Must be able to distinguish between colors
