Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Programmer/Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team on the 1st shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming and operating sheet and plate laser cutting equipment with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. This position requires a solid understanding of technical drawings and specifications, as well as the ability to operate precision tools and machinery in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure accuracy in production.
• Use and maintain precision measuring equipment such as ID and OD Micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance, including daily, weekly, and monthly PM checks, and collaborate with maintenance on major repairs.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, always adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specified standards, including First Article Inspection.
• Maintain inventory of production-related consumables.

Qualifications

Education, Skills and Experience

• Ability to work 1st shift (8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with Saturday half-days).
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience programming lasers for sheet metal fabrication.
• Proven experience as a Laser Programmer/Operator.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to read blueprints, understand GD&T, and write, edit, troubleshoot programs and machine issues.
• Excellent multi-tasking, attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
