Job summary

Oho Group is seeking a Laser Engineering Safety Specialist to own laser safety by design across complex laser and optical systems.

You’ll work across the full beam path, influencing containment, interlocks, beam routing and stray-light detection, collaborating with laser scientists and engineers to make hardware safe by design. This role requires hands-on experience with Class 3B/4 lasers and a strong background in laser/optical engineering.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Class 3B and/or Class 4 laser systems.
• Experience engineering laser safety into real hardware, including containment and interlocks.
• Background in laser engineering, optical engineering, photonics, physics, electrical engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with ANSI Z136 or IEC 60825 standards.
• Experience with laser power measurement, beam characterization, or stray-light assessment.
• Ability to work with complex hardware in R&D or prototype environments.

A growing deep-tech hardware company is looking for a Laser Engineering Safety Specialist to own laser safety by design across complex laser and optical systems.

You’ll work across the full beam path, designing safety into systems from the architecture stage. You’ll have real influence over containment, interlocks, beam routing and stray-light detection, working closely with laser scientists and engineers to make complex hardware safe by design.
