Job summary

Krayden, Inc. is seeking a motivated Laser Engineer to join our Manchester, NH team.

You will work across engineering, quality, and customer-facing functions, supporting product development, materials testing, and process improvements in a hands-on environment. Ideal for recent grads or early-career professionals, the role involves programming tasks (G-Code, Python, C++), CAD design, and quality inspections with a focus on ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and design tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Basic understanding of CO₂ laser systems and mechanical components.
  • Exposure to programming languages such as G-Code, Python, or C++.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality assurance practices.
  • Experience or coursework in prototyping, materials testing, or technical inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Review and develop customer design specifications to align with functional and performance requirements.
  • Collaborate with customers on material selection and provide design consultation for project success.
  • Analyze and test materials for application suitability and performance characteristics.
  • Operate and troubleshoot CO₂ laser systems; support optimization and maintenance.
  • Assist with programming and coding tasks (G-Code, Python, C++) to streamline automation and manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluate equipment and software performance and recommend enhancements or new technologies.
  • Conduct visual and technical quality inspections; support First Article Inspections (FAIs).
  • Utilize Net-Inspect or similar platforms to manage FAI reports and ensure quality documentation.
  • Track and support KPI metrics; assist in audits; maintain ISO 9001 / AS9100 compliance.

About the Role

We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laser Engineer to join our innovative team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to develop their technical expertise in a hands-on environment. You’ll work across engineering, quality, and customer-facing functions, supporting product development, materials testing, and process improvements.
