Wavelength Electronics, Inc. designs and manufactures precision electronics for critical laser systems in Bozeman, MT.

The Laser Electronics Applications Engineer role supports laser engineers by integrating OEM drivers and temperature controllers and guiding researchers in using our touchscreen instruments. We train you on all WEI products and their applications, with opportunities to test new products, update datasheets, and travel to events.

Qualifications

• Requires a 2-year degree in a technical field or equivalent experience with two years in B2B customer service.
• Understands and can troubleshoot basic analog and digital electronic circuits and read schematics.
• Familiarity with LabVIEW programs and USB interface software is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand client needs and goals, mainly remotely via email, phone, and video.
• Guide clients to best-fit product and recommend product variations.
• Diagnose problems with customer setups and provide complex troubleshooting and technical support.
• Collaborate with Account Manager to address client challenges and win designs.
• Review warranty claims and manage returns and exchanges (RMA rate under 0.1%).
• Communicate clearly with US and international customers in writing and verbally.
• Assist engineering with product testing, update data sheets, and test variations; possible travel to Photonics West.
