Job summary

SURGE Staffing is seeking a motivated Laser Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Ohio. You will set up, operate, and monitor laser cutting equipment to produce metal components per production specs.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, detail orientation, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with laser cutting or similar machinery is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and production specifications.
• Basic math skills for measurements, adjustments, and quality checks.
• Ability to operate laser cutting machines and adjust settings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely set up, operate, and monitor laser cutting machines.
• Configure machine settings and cutting parameters based on material type and thickness.
• Properly align and position raw materials in the laser machine.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and production specifications.
• Produce parts according to established quality and production standards.
• Perform measurements and quality inspections throughout the production process.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools to verify part dimensions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow PPE guidelines.
• Complete production documentation and report machine issues or safety concerns.
