Job summary

Steel Technologies LLC in Smyrna, TN is seeking a Laser Blanking Line Operator to set up, run, and monitor the laser blanking line to produce blanks per customer specs.

You will reconcile coil identities to production schedules, verify material specs, program the laser, thread coils through the line, and monitor blanks for quality while supporting maintenance and housekeeping. Competitive benefits available.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety rules and requirements.
• Knowledge of raw materials (steel) and blanking processes.
• Ability to read material tags and production instructions.
• Ability to accurately use measurement tools and gauges.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with team.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile coil identity to production schedule.
• Check and record gauge, width, hardness, camber, burr, and surface requirements.
• Program the laser, import part information, check laser heads.
• Thread coil through uncoiler, leveler/flattener, feed unit.
• Monitor condition of blanks for quality and compliance.
• Adjust laser setup to ensure quality.
• Remove scrap and empty hoppers as necessary.
• Assist maintenance to troubleshoot malfunctions or perform preventive maintenance as needed.
• Report non-compliance or quality problems to supervisor or shift lead.
• Maintain clean and organized work area.
