RA’s client is a privately held, technology driven visionary company, which develops and sells diode and ultrafast fiber lasers for scientific and industrial applications. The company sets its own annual challenge to continually present exciting product innovations and world firsts.
Since 1995, our client’s lasers and laser-related measurement equipment have been dedicated to serving the forefront of atomic physics, metrology, quantum computing, microscopy, printing, optical disc manufacturing and many other applications. Whenever lasers need to be matched with the latest scientific challenge, our client’s lasers are the key to success. Whenever wavelengths are to be determined with an absolute precision of better than 10^-7, beam wavefronts are given in mλ, or random pulse sequences and lengths are required in ns or even fs scale, our client’s lasers are involved.
Why should you be interested? Strong contacts with the scientific community and a profound understanding of their needs motivate our client to push the development always one step further and that results in world-renowned diode and fiber lasers with cutting edge clean pulse technology. We are looking for scientific experts who understand this technology and its potential for customers by matching the technology with their application requirements.
Our client is looking for people who share the same “Passion for Precision” that keeps our client excited and has resulted in over 20 years of commercial success in the scientific and industrial environment.
This is an important customer-facing role within our client’s Americas office in western New York. The Applications Specialist will provide in-the-lab demonstrations to prove that our client’s laser systems meet the requirements of customers’ applications, particularly in target markets like interferometry, holography, and semiconductor inspection, or in biophotonics and microscopy.
These demonstrations typically serve specific customer enquiries, but they may be experiments with academic or industrial collaborators that demonstrate new capabilities of our client’s laser products. The Applications Specialist will work closely with colleagues within the applications team, R&D and Sales to determine customer requirements and will design and implement experiments to test those requirements in our client’s Applications Lab or at the customer site. They will support customers as they implement our client’s solutions, and they will solicit information from and support our client’s R&D, service, and production teams.
Our client’s lasers serve a wide range of applications, so the Applications Specialist must be a quick learner, adaptable, and possess very good hands‑on optics laboratory skills.
