Job summary

Garlock Family of Companies in New York is seeking a hands-on Production Worker to assemble Klozure oil seals, perform inspections, and package finished goods while coordinating materials for production and supporting inventory control on the 1st shift.

Applicants with manufacturing experience, metal fabrication, machining, welding, or related industrial backgrounds are encouraged. The job requires attention to detail, safety compliance, lifting up to 30 lbs, and ability to read a tape measure.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read adjustable measuring devices and observe close tolerances in grinding and sanding parts.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks in a production environment.
• Experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates components for inventory controls and items for final assembly.
• Manufactures Klozure oil seals including assembly, closing, and product identification per customer requirements.
• Performs in-process and final inspections using visual and dimensional verification with measuring devices.
• Packages and identifies products for shipment or stock per work instructions.
• May operate a Lift Truck for material handling.
• Reads a tape measure and uses measuring instruments.

Essential Functions

• Coordinates components for inventory controls as well as items to be issued to final assembly.
• Manufactures Klozure oil seals including: the assembly of components, closing of assembled products, product identification, and any other post closing operations per customer requirement.
• Performs in-process and final product inspections as required per order and/or work instructions. Inspections may require a visual and/or dimensional verification requiring the use of various measuring devices.
• Packages and identifies product for shipment and/or for stock inventory per associated work instructions.
• Material handling as required may require use of Lift Truck.
• Ability to read a tape measure and use other measuring instruments

Other Responsibilities

• Keeps work area clean.
• Completes all associated documentation as deemed necessary by Supervisor.
• Adheres to all plant safety rules and guidelines.
• Performs other jobs as assigned by Supervisor.
• Performs routine and preventative maintenance including but not limited to the oiling and care of machines.

FREQUENCY PER SHIFT: Up to 10 times per day.

REPETITIVE MOTION TASKS: Feeding parts.

DURATION OF SHIFT: 10%

WORKING CONDITIONS: Dirt, (dust), noise, water, oil, grease, and chemical solution.
