Large Mill Cutoff Operator - Off Shift - $28.71/hour plus $1.00/hour shift differential

Who we are looking for:

We are currently seeking an experienced Large Mill Cutoff Operator based in Harvey, IL, approximately 30 miles south of Downtown Chicago. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this role involves operating the mill cutoff and monitoring product quantity and quality.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment processing steel. Experience with lean manufacturing or business system-based companies is a plus.

What you'll do:

• Set up the Tube Mill, including monitoring of flying cut-off, deburr, and packaging equipment.
• Ensure product quality according to specifications provided in the work order by performing regular inspections using tape measure, micrometer, caliper, and visual checks.
• Complete inspection paperwork promptly.
• Operate packaging or manual banding equipment.
• Handle products to produce safe bundles for transport.
• Conduct daily safety inspections of the work area.
• Fill out hourly reports.
