Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist (Large Lathe) for night shift at our Pooler, GA facility.

You will independently interpret blueprints, planning sheets, and GD&T to determine tooling needs, setup procedures, and machining methods for large gas turbine components. During a 3–6 month training period, new hires will work on first shift to build a strong foundation for success.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of CNC machining in heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Experience operating large lathes.
• Ability to machine large, tight-tolerance components.
• Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
• Experience with alloy steels, carbon steels, stainless steels, and large forgings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate large CNC lathes (110-220 ton).
• Machine large gas turbine components to tight tolerances.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies for large forgings and castings.
• Optimize cutting parameters to improve quality, cycle time, and tool life.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measurement tools.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues with minimal supervision.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams to support first-time-right builds.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
