Job summary

Piworld in Wood Dale, IL is seeking a Large Format Operator for direct hire to drive our wide-format print production. You will operate and monitor equipment, perform pre-press tasks, and handle finishing processes.

The role requires 1–3+ years of hands-on experience with HP/Mimaki/Canon/Vutek printers, proficiency with Onyx or Caldera RIP software, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs while maintaining strict quality and deadlines.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of hands-on wide-format or digital print production.
• Direct operational experience with HP, Mimaki, Canon, or Vutek printers.
• Experience with Onyx or Caldera RIP software.
• Strong pre-press, color calibration, and file preparation skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Excellent attention to detail and deadline management.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wide-format and digital print production equipment.
• Perform pre-press duties, file scaling, color calibration, and RIP processing.
• Execute post-print finishing including trimming, laminating, mounting, grommeting, and sewing.
• Handle substrates like vinyl, fabric, mesh, PVC, foam board, and styrene.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and maintain quality while meeting deadlines.
• Safely lift and move materials weighing 50–100 lbs.
