Job summary

Wagman is seeking a Drill Shaft Caisson Operator to join our Geotechnical Division in the Virginia region. You will report to field supervision and safely set up and operate caisson drill rigs, inspect equipment, and support the project team to meet deadlines on outdoor construction sites.

Work is performed year-round in all weather, with safety as a priority. This safety-sensitive role may involve drug testing and compliance with Federal Contractor policies; regional travel to VA sites is

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED; relevant work experience can substitute.
  • More than 1 year experience running drill rigs for large diameter caisson work, construction experience, experience running equipment helpful.
  • Experience running drill rigs for caissons

Responsibilities

  • Safely setting and operating caisson drill rigs.
  • Inspecting machinery and equipment before use.
  • Carrying materials and assisting with cement operations.
  • Working with auger cast drills, micropiles, or related tasks.
  • Supervising drill rig helpers and enforcing safety policies.

Position:

Drill Operator

Travel:

Regional, primarily VA sites

Pay Range:

$28.00/hr- $38.00/hr (Based on experience and certifications)

We are currently seeking a Drill Shaft Caisson Operator to join our Geotechnical Division. Reporting to direct field supervision, the Caisson Operator is responsible for safely setting and operating caisson drill rigs, as well as inspecting machinery and equipment. Other tasks may include working with auger cast drills, micropiles, carrying materials and heavy objects, properly setting up concrete operations, cleaning of job site, and other job site related functions. This position works along with the entire Project Team to support the completion of assigned construction tasks and ensures all plans move forward to meet projected deadlines. The Geotechnical group provides comprehensive services for projects requiring foundations and earth retention systems. Work is performed outdoors year round.

This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.

This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Qualifications
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Experience in earth work, drilling
  • Capable of operating machinery and rigs safely in accordance with company policy
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
Job Duties And Responsibilities Include
  • Carry, load, or unload materials
  • Operate and assist in maintaining drill rigs and related equipment
  • Perform minor repairs and service to equipment
  • Run other construction equipment such as excavator or skid steer if capable
  • Supervise drill rig helpers
  • Responsible for safety policies and required to wear PPE
