Job Description

The Large Animal Clinical Skills Assistant will work closely with students and faculty, assisting in lab and clinical activities for assigned courses and educational programs under faculty supervision.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience handling and managing horses and cattle
Preferred Qualifications
  • A.S. or A.A.S. in Veterinary Medical Technology
  • At least one year of experience as an instructor in an associate degree veterinary technology program or veterinary medical college
Physical Demands
Job Duties
  1. Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to faculty, staff, students, and the community.
  2. Foster effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students.
  3. Participate in university committees.
  4. Assist faculty in providing clinical and lab experiences for students efficiently and professionally.
  5. Support student learning in veterinary clinical skills under faculty guidance.
  6. Prepare laboratories, organize resources, animals, equipment, and consumables.
  7. Assist with lab cleanup.
  8. Handle, maintain, monitor, and treat large animals at the DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center.
  9. Ensure OSHA and USDA guidelines are followed in student activities.
  10. Oversee medical records of animals used in teaching.
  11. Comply with IACUC guidelines.
  12. Maintain records and inventory of materials and equipment.
  13. Participate in animal handling, maintenance, and treatment.
  14. Complete accreditation and operational reports.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
  16. Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within CVM.
