Job summary

The University of Pennsylvania seeks a Large Animal Attendant B/C to provide high-quality daily care for Hofmann Center animals, safely handling stallions and assisting with reproductive procedures. You will support health checks, teaching laboratories, and grounds maintenance in a demanding yet educational environment.

Responsibilities include feeding, stall cleaning, medication administration, and participation in herd health activities while maintaining safe facilities and professionalism

Qualifications

• Experience with horses or large animals in professional or educational settings.
• Ability to safely handle, restrain, and care for large animals, including horses.
• Ability to follow established animal-care and safety protocols.
• Ability to administer medications and assist with routine health-care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily feeding and care for Hofmann Center animals; clean and maintain areas.
• Care for client-owned animals; disinfect stalls and administer medications.
• Safely handle stallions for semen collection and assist during procedures.
• Support herd health program: vaccinations, deworming, hoof care and routine tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the reproduction center and grounds.
• Perform routine grounds maintenance: mowing, gardening and outdoor upkeep.
• Assist with instructional laboratories and research projects.
• Prepare, set up, and clean up teaching laboratories and activities.
