Job summary

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. is seeking a Diamond Polisher Operator for the Vishay Centerline facility in Hudson, MA. This role supports precision machining of ceramic and advanced materials used across medical, semiconductor, AI, aerospace, and defense industries.

You will set up and operate lapping equipment, lap ceramics, monitor removal rates, prepare slurries, load fixtures, read instructions, and maintain production documentation. A 4-day, 2nd-shift schedule applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to read work instructions
• Use precision measuring tools
• Basic math skills
• Mechanical aptitude
• Lift up to 40 lbs
• Stand for extended periods
• Preferred: Lapping, polishing, or machining experience
• Semiconductor manufacturing experience
• SpeedFam or similar equipment experience
• Ceramic or advanced materials manufacturing
• SPC knowledge
• Precision measurement experience

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lapping machines to process ceramic, glass, and advanced material substrates
• Lap ceramic and advanced materials to meet thickness, flatness, and surface finish specifications
• Monitor material removal rates and inspect parts during processing
• Prepare and mix lapping slurries for production
• Load and unload fixtures and read travelers and work instructions
• Maintain equipment and a clean, organized work area (5S)
• Complete production documentation and report equipment issues
• Follow quality procedures and safety requirements
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Responsible for setting up and operating precision lapping equipment to process ceramic, glass, and advanced material substrates to customer specifications for thickness, flatness, parallelism, and surface finish.

2nd Shift 2pm-12:30am Mon-Thurs (4 day work week)

• Condition lapping plates
• Complete production documentation

• Follow all safety requirements
• Participate in continuous improvement
