Job Description Summary

This position performs skilled consecutive, first-person interpretation under direct supervision, following well-defined policies and procedures. The role involves minimal independent judgment, with most issues referred to a supervisor. The interpreter may work with languages including, but not limited to, Arabic, Bengali, Brazilian Portuguese, Burmese, Cambodian, Cantonese, Farsi, French, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Hmong, Japanese, Korean, Karen, Mandarin, Nepali, Polish, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

Essential Functions
  • Provides meaning-for-meaning interpreting.
  • Follows CyraCom's interpreter protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to interpreter ethics.
  • Attends required training sessions.
  • Continuously enhances vocabulary and subject matter knowledge.
  • Uses standard office equipment and MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrates reliable attendance, follows instructions, communicates effectively, and works independently or as part of a team.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Fluency in English and target language.
  • Strong communication skills in both languages.
  • Understanding of linguistics and cultural differences.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and react calmly in emergencies.
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and office equipment.
