LANIER TECHNICAL COLLEGE - PART-TIME EMT/PARAMEDIC LAB ASSISTANT

Position Details

Position: Part-Time EMT/Paramedic Lab Assistant

Reports To: Program Director, Paramedicine Technology

Start Dates: Summer Semester (May 19, 2025; no classes 6/30 - 7/4/25) and Fall Semester (August 11, 2025; no classes 11/24 - 11/28/25)

Responsibilities

Assist faculty with routine laboratory work, including preparation, maintenance, and operation of lab equipment. Maintain inventory and requisition supplies. Support faculty in supervising students in labs and perform related duties as assigned. Employment is on an individual academic term basis.

Major Duties

• Assist with classroom and lab instruction, exams, record keeping, safety procedures, and student skill evaluations.
• Tutor or mentor students.
• Accompany instructors/students to clinical settings and evaluate performance as needed.
• Clean labs as necessary.
• Obtain materials needed for classes, including texts and supplies.
• Maintain qualifications per TCSG and accreditation standards.
• Adhere to all deadlines and policies established by Lanier Technical College and TCSG.
• Assist with special projects or initiatives as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of State-approved Advanced EMT or higher course(s).
• National Registry certification.
• Ability to obtain BLS Instructor certification within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher; ACLS/PALS certifications.
• National Registry Paramedic with 3+ years of experience.
• Instructor certification in NAEMT and AHA disciplines.

This position is available at the Hall campus, with day and evening classes. It is a temporary, part-time, hourly position, up to 29 hours per week during class sessions, Monday through Thursday.
