Position Summary: Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12 Educational Services is seeking qualifiedLanguage Interpreters and Translators to support communication among students, families, educators, school districts, and community partners throughout Adams, Franklin, and York Counties. Interpreters and translators help ensure individuals with limited English proficiency have meaningful access to educational programs, services, meetings, and information. Assignments may includein-person interpretation, virtual or telephone interpretation, and written translation, depending on program needs and the contractor's qualifications.
Qualifications: Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in English and at least one additional language.

Dependability and flexibility to accept assignments on an as-needed basis.
Certification / Language Proficiency: Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete LIU12's Interpreter/Translator Certification Process, which may include demonstrated proficiency in both English and the target language, training in educational interpretation, ethics, confidentiality, cultural responsiveness, and professional practices. Language proficiency may be verified through an approved assessment or credential when applicable.
Compensation: $25.00/hour
Additional Information: This is a contracted, as-needed position and does not constitute employment with Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12. Work is available throughout the year based on requests for language services. Assignments may occur during school hours, evenings, parent events, meetings, open houses, or other scheduled activities. Interpreters/translators may be asked to provide services in person, virtually, or by telephone, depending on the assignment.
