The ICLS project at NFATC seeks instructors, testers, and curriculum specialists to develop and support language programs for domestic and overseas use.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years in developing courses for adult language learners.
• Degree in language education or related field with demonstrated expertise in instructional design/curriculum development for language education.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills: email, MS Office; familiarity with online meeting software.
• U.S. work authorization required (Citizens and Permanent Residents welcome to apply).

Responsibilities

• Lead development of language training materials and SLS-relevant instructional research following the SLS model.
• Manage development and implementation of new specialized language training programs for domestic and overseas use; mentor colleagues by developing best-practices models.
• Encourage use of innovative training models (Distance Learning, multimedia systems, guided self-study, coaching, local language immersion, tutoring).
• Lead staff training projects, including workshops, coaching, mentoring, or classroom observation.
• Collaborate with Curriculum, Student and Staff Development to draft required documents in the curriculum development project approval process and provide status updates.

Education

BA/BS, MA/MS, or Ph.D. in a relevant language education field
