Job summary

CNSS • National Security Systems seeks a linguist to support the NSA’s SIGINT mission. The role involves analyzing, transcribing, and translating languages to aid policymakers and military leaders.

Applicants should have ILR 2/2 proficiency, plus relevant experience in language work or related fields. The LADP program offers intensive training with multiple operational tours across NSA offices.

Qualifications

• Language proficiency: ILR level 2/2 in reading and listening for target language.
• Minimum 1 year relevant experience in language work (translation, transcription, language instruction) or related non-language fields such as intelligence analysis, international relations, security studies, STEM, or cybersecurity.
• For Full Performance and Senior levels, formal or informal leadership experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Offer policymakers and leaders insights by analyzing, transcribing, and translating key information.
• Research cultures and geopolitical contexts to understand language relevance.
• Apply new techniques to synthesize large volumes of data from disparate sources.
• Demonstrate understanding of communications and technology trends.
• Craft written and oral assessments providing unique insights within NSA SIGINT context.
• Work independently and with teams across NSA and the Intelligence Community in research, analysis, and reporting.
