JS ROMANA LANDSCAPING is seeking an experienced landscaping supervisor to manage on-site grounds maintenance projects in Richmond, BC. The role requires supervising 5–10 staff, planning and directing deck and wall construction, and coordinating labour and materials to meet project deadlines.
The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of supervisory experience, a secondary school certificate, and strong communication skills to liaise with clients and the team.
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Work site environment: Outdoors.
Tasks: Hire, supervise and schedule staff. Plan and direct grounds maintenance. Plan and estimate labour and materials. Organize and direct construction of decks and decorative or retaining walls. Plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work. Maintain work records and logs. Tender and administer contracts. Read blueprints and drawings. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Establish work schedules and procedures.
Supervision: 5-10 people.
Equipment and machinery experience: Chain saw. Small engine equipment. Sod cutter. Tractor mower.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
Personal suitability: Client focus. Excellent oral communication. Initiative. Judgement. Team player.
