Make your mark as a seasonal or part-time Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance Tech with New Horizon Kennel in Port Byron, IL!

In operation since 2012, we have a stellar reputation in our community and the surrounding region as a modern pet care facility committed to quality services and excellent care for dogs and cats. We uphold the highest standards and do our utmost to provide a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment. Now we're looking for a like-minded, solution-driven person to maintain incredible outdoor spaces and assist with general facility maintenance as needed.

Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance Tech Snapshot:

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00/hour (based on skills/experience)

Schedule: Days, Monday - Friday, with occasional nights or weekends as needed

What We're Looking For:

• Working knowledge of plant identification and proper care
• Mechanical aptitude for operating and maintaining equipment
• Strong attention to detail, a professional attitude/appearance, and a solid work ethic
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing for extended periods and lifting 50+ lbs.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Preferred - 5+ years of professional landscaping experience
• Preferred - Proficiency with carpentry, electrical, or general repair work

• Complete high-quality landscaping, turf maintenance, and plant care activities
• Safely operate equipment and properly use various machinery
• Contribute to landscape design projects, such as layouts, edging, and retaining walls
• Perform seasonal outdoor responsibilities such as removing snow
• Assist with general property maintenance and repairs as needed, including carpentry and minor electrical work
• Play your part in creating and maintaining clean, appealing, and functional spaces
