The University of Virginia’s Facilities Management department is seeking Landscapers to maintain the exterior environment that is the Grounds of the University of Virginia.
This on-site position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and may require nonstandard shifts (weekends/evenings) as weather and events demand.
The University of Virginia’s Facilities Management department is seeking Landscapers who wish to be part of the team tasked with maintaining the exterior environment that is the Grounds of the University of Virginia.
The University has been recognized by multiple sources over the years as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the United States. More recently the University has been designated by The Arbor Day Foundation as a “Tree Campus” which speaks to the commitment of the Landscape Department and the University for maintaining the health of our trees. In addition, the University has received the designation of being a Bee Campus, again speaking to our dedication to supporting the pollinator insect population on Grounds.
Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia’s wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair and maintenance of UVA's buildings, infrastructure and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties.
Landscape & Grounds Workers are also required to stand, walk, and lift above and below the waist various weights which may include different landscape equipment and materials. The use of both hands and a repetitive motion will be required while pruning, driving, weeding, and pushing lawnmowers.
Estimated salary range $15.00 - $18.00/hour; commensurate with experience.
This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
