Job summary

BrightView Landscapes in Ohio is seeking a Landscaper I to provide maintenance support for various industrial, commercial, and public properties. This entry-level role performs basic tasks under supervision and helps operate commercial landscaping equipment safely.

You will plant and maintain plant material, prune shrubs, mulch, and assist with general grounds upkeep while upholding a courteous, safety-conscious demeanor. The company offers a robust benefits package for full-time team members.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Enthusiastic and dependable.
• Ability to safely operate equipment like power saws and cutters.
• Certified on level 1 equipment (backpack blower, edger, string trimmer, walk-behind mower).
• Familiar with basic horticultural maintenance operations.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check and DOT physical with drug test preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cut turf with power mowers, trim and edge with gas-powered tools.
• Prune shrubs and small trees to improve shape or remove damaged branches.
• Plant and maintain flowerbeds.
• Operate edger and trimmer along sidewalks, beds, and buildings.
• Pick up trash and blow leaves onto turf before mowing.
• Mulch leaves and organic matter during mowing.
• Weed by hand or with a hoe.
• Perform basic maintenance to extend equipment life.
• Remove trash and dead plants from landscape.
• Maintain a polite, customer-friendly demeanor and report unsafe conditions.
