Production Manager Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Landscape Maintenance Production Manager to oversee our maintenance operations and ensure the highest standards of service.
Job Summary: The Landscape Maintenance Production Manager will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing all landscape maintenance activities. This includes spring cleanups, edging, mulching, mowing, pruning, fall cleanups, and snow removal. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in landscape maintenance, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This is a salaried position, with an expected average of 50 hours per week during peak season and 40 hours per week during off-peak season. The role also requires working every other Saturday during peak season.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise landscape maintenance crews, ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
- Plan and coordinate daily work schedules, including mow routes and enhancements, in collaboration with Account Managers.
- Hire, train, coach, and evaluate employees to build a skilled and efficient team.
- Conduct site walks with foremen at the start of each season to ensure all properties are maintained according to contract specifications throughout the year.
- Oversee quality control and ensure all work meets company standards and client expectations.
- Manage budgeted hours and monitor overtime, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Review and approve employee timesheets for accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain a deep understanding of assigned properties to ensure services are delivered as per contract agreements.
- Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Operations Manager, reporting on all operational matters.
- Stay informed on industry standards, including proper pruning techniques, mowing practices, and other best practices.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to develop and implement safe and efficient operational practices.
- Modify schedules, practices, and guidelines as needed to address and resolve any issues that arise.
- Review completed work to ensure it meets contractual requirements and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance management or a similar supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques, including pruning, mowing, mulching, and snow removal.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor as needed.
