Job description

Job Overview

As a Designer at Creative Environments, you shape luxury outdoor living environments that extend far beyond the home and create spaces designed for gathering, retreat, celebration, and everyday living. From the first conversation, you help clients imagine what their outdoor space can become, translating lifestyle, vision, and possibility into a compelling direction they can see themselves living in.

Balancing inspired design with the realities of construction execution, you carry that vision forward with care and intention. Staying closely connected from concept through construction, you help clients navigate decisions, tradeoffs, and expectations while protecting the integrity of what was promised. The result is outdoor environments that are both beautiful and buildable, delivered as intended.

At its core, this role is about stewardship and pride in the outcome. You own the experience as much as the design, ensuring every space reflects the Creative Environments standard of craftsmanship, clarity, and follow through. These are environments meant to be lived in, shared, and remembered, and you play a central role in bringing them to life.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create visually appealing and marketable design solutions that support sales objectives and help clients confidently move forward with their projects
  • Engage with prospective and existing clients to present design concepts and clearly communicate value, benefits, and differentiators
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop presentations, sales kits, and other client-facing materials that reinforce the CE brand
  • Use CRM systems to manage leads, track opportunities, and document client interactions to support pipeline accuracy and follow-through
  • Understand client requirements, preferences, and lifestyle goals through effective discovery and consultation
  • Translate client vision into clear, buildable design concepts that balance creativity, constructability, and budget constraints
  • Select materials, fixtures, and finishes that align with approved design intent, project scope, and financial parameters
  • Ensure design documentation and selections are complete and feasible prior to construction handoff
  • Guide and support clients throughout the project lifecycle with expert advice and clear communication
  • Help clients make informed decisions by explaining options, tradeoffs, and implications related to scope, timing, and cost
  • Manage client expectations and maintain consistent communication to ensure clarity and confidence at every stage
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure approved design intent is accurately executed during construction
  • Participate in construction coordination and documentation using tools such as Procore
  • Conduct milestone walks and site visits to review progress, address questions, and support alignment between design and field execution
  • Identify design or execution issues early and work collaboratively to resolve them
  • Support quality control efforts to ensure construction activities meet CE standards, applicable codes, and regulations
  • Ensure timely collection of payments through invoicing, follow-up, and accurate recordkeeping
  • Address payment-related questions professionally while maintaining positive client relationships
  • Represent Creative Environments with professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail in all interactions
Requirements
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills are a must-have for a designer/sales rep in construction. You must be able to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and team members, both verbally and in writing. Building and maintaining relationships will help you navigate through project milestones and the collection process smoothly.
  • Proficiency in Technology: Familiarity with construction management software like Procore and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools is a significant advantage. These tools streamline project management processes, enhance communication, and ensure efficient organization.
  • As a designer, you'll be leading and guiding customers through their projects. It's important to possess not only technical skills but also an encouraging attitude. Your ability to inspire and support clients through any challenges they may face during the construction process will contribute to their overall satisfaction.
  • Be positive, patient, and transparent with customers, and always prioritize their needs and vision. Your role is to facilitate the realization of their dream construction project and ensure a seamless experience from start to finish.
