Job summary

Qualifications

• 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in Public Works Industry or equivalent.
• One year of college or vocational training in forestry, horticulture, landscape design or related field.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid state driver’s license and driving standards must be met.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff under direction of supervisor, including training and evaluating work.
• Manage and perform maintenance of right-of-ways and designated areas; supervise contracted services.
• Conduct tree hazard assessment and pruning/removal as needed.
• Assist with planning, design and implementation of landscape construction on maintained properties.
• Supervise departmental functions such as mosquito and litter control in compliance with regulations.
• Purchase supplies for projects and distribute to personnel.
• Perform payroll assistance, work schedules, and reporting tasks.
• Attend safety classes and enforce safety policies.
