Job summary

Lawton Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Technician in Lawton, OK to manage lawn care across campuses. The role involves mowing with zero-turn mowers, operating blowers and edgers, and performing routine equipment maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and at least one year of related experience. Knowledge of irrigation systems is a plus; pesticide licensure is encouraged. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• At least 1 year of lawn care maintenance or related field experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain pesticide technician license.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate and provide preventive maintenance on heavy/light equipment.
• Irrigation maintenance experience or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform preventive maintenance on heavy/light equipment used for lawn care.
• Operate zero-turn mower and other lawn tools.
• Assist with irrigation maintenance and repair knowledge.
• Lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
