Job summary

Forest Lawn Memorial Parks and Mortuaries is seeking a Maintenance Worker to care for cemetery grounds and facilities. You will perform a variety of maintenance tasks under supervision, including grounds cleanup, equipment operation, and assisting families with needs.

Qualifications include at least 6 months in maintenance, a valid CA driver’s license, the ability to lift 100 lbs, and weekend/holiday availability.

Brief Description

Our Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance tasks associated with the care of cemetery grounds and facilities. This position will work under direct supervision, individually, or with a team. Duties include grounds maintenance functions such as working with hand tools and equipment operation.

What You'll Be Doing

• General grounds clean-up and trash disposal.
• Clean and maintain storm drains.
• Repair lawn damage.
• Mow section and garden lawns.
• Trim memorial tablets.
• Replant landscapes.
• Apply landscape chemicals such as fertilizers, wetting agents, herbicides.
• Assist client families and other guests with grounds maintenance requests.
• Operate specialized equipment to move materials.
• Assist in completing interments.
• Assist in set-up and clean-up before and after special events.
• Install tents for funeral services.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a maintenance position.
• Valid California Driver's License.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Must have a caring and professional demeanor and enjoy helping families at a difficult time.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work on-site.
