Essential Duties

• Maintain commercial landscapes following the direction of the Foreman. Typical duties include mowing, raking, weeding, shearing, edging, and hand pruning.
• Safely operate equipment, including 21" and 36" mowers; power hedge shears; power shears; backpack blower; aerator.
• Basic understanding of plant identification and basic hand pruning skills.
• Basic ability to shear shrubs and hedges and to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Operate all vehicles and equipment in accordance with Monarch Safety Policy.
• Adhere to Monarch code of conduct at all times.
• Show up to work on time, complete tasks within time expectations, adhere to dress code, and follow inclement weather and sick leave procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience
Commercial landscape experience preferred, but not required.

License or Certification
Valid Driver’s License issued from state of employment, preferred but not required.

Specialized Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with Foreman and team members
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
• Strong commitment to high quality of work and customer service
• Ability to complete tasks assigned in a timely manner
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks
• Deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables

Physical Requirements

• Constantly required to talk, hear, see, sit, stand and walk
• Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, peripherally, have depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus
• Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
• Frequently required to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb and balance
• Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions

• Frequently works with mechanical objects and outside in all weather conditions
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
• Frequently exposed to loud noise levels
