Job summary

Barks Road Landscape Architecture LTD seeks a Gardener to partner with the Estate Manager and gardening team in caring for clients’ gardens. You will perform plant layout, planting design, containers, weed control and pruning of ornamentals to keep sites looking pristine.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and a passion for plants, with opportunities for growth into accounts management, staff training, and client relationship building.

Qualifications

• Degree in horticulture or a related field (preferred).
• Excellent communications skills.
• Experience in garden maintenance.
• Knowledge of plants, landscape materials, tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of best industry practices.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Desire to continue professional development through experience and educational opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and development of client gardens in collaboration with Estate Manager and gardening team.
• Perform horticultural tasks including plant layout, design, planting, container design, weed control and pruning of ornamental plants.
• Maintain high-quality standards to match client expectations.
• Potential growth into accounts management, staff training and client relationships.

The Gardener works directly with our Estate Manager and the fine gardening team in the care and continued development of our clients’ gardens. The ideal candidate has the ability to perform a wide range of horticultural tasks, including plant layout, annual design and planting, container design, weed control, and pruning of ornamental plants. Growth potential would allow for accounts management, training other staff, and client relationship building.

We are looking for a strong team player with a passion for plants, a positive attitude, and an attention to detail to maintain our clients’ gardens at the quality they have come to expect.
