Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in landscape design or related field preferred.
  • Experience in landscape design, recreation planning, architecture, site design, playground design, or related field preferred.
  • Portfolio demonstrating creativity, design process, project experience, and visual communication skills required.

Job description

  • Lead the design and development of play spaces, parks, and recreational environments from concept through final design.
  • Collaborate with clients, sales teams, and internal stakeholders to understand project goals, site opportunities, budget considerations, and user needs.
  • Translate client vision into creative, functional, and compelling design solutions that align with GameTime's design philosophy and brand standards.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining project schedules, design quality, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate project activities, timelines, design deliverables, and communication among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and present design concepts through site plans, renderings, visualizations, presentations, and other communication tools.
  • Participate in client meetings, design workshops, and project reviews to gather information, present recommendations, and facilitate project progress.
  • Serve as a design consultant throughout the project lifecycle, providing creative solutions and helping clients make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with product development, engineering, construction, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are achievable and aligned with project objectives.
  • Develop recreation-based site layouts that balance aesthetics, functionality, accessibility, safety, and user experience.
  • Utilize design software and visualization tools to communicate concepts, produce project documentation, and support project delivery.
  • Interpret surveys, site information, construction documents, and technical requirements to support the design process.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and applicable standards related to recreation and site design.
  • Support continuous improvement of design processes, presentation standards, and the overall client experience.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Design, Architecture, Planning, Environmental Design, or a related design field preferred.
  • Experience in landscape design, recreation planning, architecture, site design, playground design, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining design quality.
  • Experience developing and presenting conceptual designs and visual presentations to clients.
  • Portfolio demonstrating creativity, design process, project experience, and visual communication skills required.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, and related design software.
  • Ability to develop site layouts, renderings, presentations, and design documentation.
  • Working knowledge of construction documents, site plans, surveys, and topographic information.
  • Familiarity with ADA, ASTM, CPSC, and other applicable industry standards.

Communication and Reasoning Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, procedures, and technical information.
  • Ability to write professional correspondence, project documentation, reports, and presentation content.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, design professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to define problems, collect and evaluate information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to communicate complex design concepts clearly through verbal, written, and visual methods.
  • Ability to speak and translate Spanish is preferred.

Travel

Minimal travel is expected, with occasional trips to client project sites, manufacturing facilities, community playground installations, or other company locations.

The work environment is generally quiet and office-based. The employee may occasionally enter manufacturing or construction environments where noise levels are higher and required personal protective equipment must be worn.
