Job summary

Thomas Young Group in Austin is seeking a junior landscape designer to support design and development of projects across scales. You will use AutoCAD and other design software to produce drawings, plans, and technical documentation.

You will create 3D models and visualizations with SketchUp and Lumion, assist with presentations, and collaborate closely with senior designers and project leads on all phases of work. Licensure not required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field.

This is a small but highly collaborative landscape architecture studio with a passion for design that blends creativity and functionality. Based in Austin, the team takes on a wide range of projects that allow designers to get hands-on experience and see their ideas come to life. It is an environment where junior designers can learn quickly, contribute meaningfully, and feel part of a close-knit, supportive group.

What you'll be doing:

Supporting the design and development of landscape architecture projects across different scales and types

Using AutoCAD and other design software to produce drawings, plans, and technical documentation

Creating 3D models and visualizations with tools such as SketchUp and Lumion

Assisting with presentations and graphics that communicate design concepts clearly

Collaborating closely with senior designers and project leads on all phases of work

What we're looking for:

Degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field

2–5 years of professional experience in landscape design

Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with 3D modeling and visualization tools

Strong graphic and presentation skills

Good communication and teamwork abilities

Licensure is not required
