Job summary

Thomas Young Group is a collaborative land development firm in Charlotte, NC. We are seeking a licensed landscape architect to lead master planning, site design, and entitlement work, while guiding junior staff and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

You will manage construction documents, QA/QC, and coordinate with clients and agencies across public and private sectors, leveraging CAD/Civil 3D, SketchUp, and Adobe tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture preferred.
• Licensed Landscape Architect or Certified Planner.
• 5+ years of experience in land development or design firm.
• Strong portfolio spanning various project types and scales.
• Proficiency in design software and strong freehand illustration skills.
• Strong understanding of local codes, zoning regulations, and entitlement processes.
• Must pass background check, drug screening, and meet driving record requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production of high-quality design work using AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and other platforms.
• Lead the creation of master plans, site plans, and entitlement documents in close collaboration with clients and internal teams.
• Guide and mentor junior staff on both design and technical execution.
• Manage and review construction documents, including grading, planting, and hardscape design.
• Conduct QA/QC on deliverables to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Coordinate with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders in both public and private sectors.
