Job summary

VHB’s Tampa, FL office is seeking a landscape architectural design intern for Summer 2027 to support our Planning & Design team. The internship blends academic learning with real-world experience, helping you explore practice areas to define your career path.

You will collaborate with civil and transportation engineers, planners, and GIS professionals, assist in master planning, visualization, and on-site data collection, and prepare reports to communicate findings effectively.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in landscape architecture (BLA or MLA) from an accredited program.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel) is expected.
• Familiarity with drawing/graphic tools is advantageous.

About the Position

VHB’s Tampa, FL office is looking for a talented landscape architectural design intern to join our team for Summer 2027 to support our Planning & Design team. The intern program is designed to round out participants’ academic learning with real world experience and help them explore areas of practice to find the best fit for their career path.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with numerous VHB staff including those in civil and transportation engineering, planning and GIS
• Assist in development of master planning and design solutions
• Assist in visualization modeling and graphics
• Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities
• Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports

Skills And Attributes

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
• Self-motivated with attention to detail
• A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve
• Knowledge of drawing and graphic tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp/ Revit
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required

Pay & Benefits

The hourly pay range for this position, located in Florida, is $19 to $30. The actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted hourly range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.
