GroundSystems in Dayton, Ohio is seeking a hands-on Crew Leader to manage and mentor a small landscaping crew. You will blend fieldwork with leadership to deliver high-quality enhancement projects and guide daily operations

This full-time role emphasizes safety, training, equipment operation, and a strong work ethic. Ideal candidates bring leadership experience and comfort working outdoors across all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years old and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (CDL not required).
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather.
• Strong attention to detail and safety; PPE must be used.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily landscaping operations for a small crew.
• Ensure quality control and project standards are met.
• Train and supervise crew members.
• Perform and guide tasks: mowing, pruning, planting, groundskeeping.
• Maintain perennial beds and operate landscaping equipment.
• Maintain a safe, efficient worksite and operate trucks and trailers.

What You'll Do

As a Crew Leader, you'll lead a crew of 1–4 members and be responsible for:

• Overseeing daily landscaping operations
• Ensuring quality control and project standards
• Training and supervising crew members
• Performing and guiding tasks such as:
• Mowing, pruning, planting, and general groundskeeping
• Perennial bed maintenance
• Equipment operation and upkeep

Maintaining a safe, efficient worksiteOperating trucks, trailers, and landscaping equipment

This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone who thrives outdoors and leads by example.

What We’re Looking For

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (CDL not required)
• At least 20 years old
