Job Summary:
RDW Texas is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Landscape Crew Leader to guide and work alongside one of our dedicated landscape maintenance crews. The ideal candidate will be an experienced landscaper with strong leadership potential, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering exceptional workmanship. As a Crew Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and high-quality execution of assigned landscape projects while fostering a collaborative and safe work environment for your team.

Responsibilities:
Crew Guidance and support:
  • Lead and work alongside a team of 2 to 3 landscape technicians and laborers.
  • Clearly communicate daily tasks and project goals to crew members.
  • Demonstrate proper landscaping techniques and provide on-the-job training and guidance.
  • Encourage teamwork and a positive work ethic within the crew.
  • Report crew progress and any challenges to the supervisor.

Maintenance:
  • Oversee and participate in all aspects of landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, weeding, fertilization, and debris removal
  • Ensure efficient and high-quality completion of scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Identify and report any plant health issues, irrigation problems, or other site concerns.

Equipment and Safety:
  • Operate and maintain various landscape equipment safely and effectively (mowers, trimmers, blowers, hand tools, etc.).
  • Ensure the safe loading, unloading, and securing of equipment and materials.
  • Conduct daily equipment checks and report any maintenance needs.
  • Enforce all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for the crew.
  • Properly use and maintain all personal protective equipment (PPE).

Client Interaction:
  • Interact professionally with clients on-site, addressing basic questions and concerns.
  • Represent RDW Texas in a positive and courteous manner.
  • Report and client requests or issues to the Supervisor.

Administrative tasks:
  • Complete daily time sheets and other required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Report any material needs or shortages to the Supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional landscaping maintenance position.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential or prior experience leading small teams.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices and techniques.
  • Ability to operate and maintain common landscaping equipment safely and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license.
