Home Grown Outdoor Finishes in Middletown, PA, is seeking a dependable Landscape Crew Lead to guide a 1–3 member crew on installation and maintenance projects throughout the Lancaster-Harrisburg region. This hands-on role rewards leadership and clear communication with customers and the office.

You will plan daily workflow, manage materials, and help keep jobsites safe and organized, with winter duties in snow removal and year-round employment.

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• 2+ years landscape or related experience.
• Professional attitude and good communication skills.
• Basic math and measuring skills.
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check after a conditional offer of employment.
• Smartphone/data device capability for field communication.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew of 1 to 3 team members on landscape installation and maintenance work.
• Complete softscape installs, mulch beds, plantings, and pruning.
• Build decorative garden walls and small retaining features.
• Plan daily workflow and help coordinate materials.
• Communicate clearly with customers and report updates as needed.

• Support commercial snow removal in the winter.
• Work snow events as needed, including overnight shifts and extended hours.

About the Job

Home Grown Outdoor Finishes is a professional landscape and hardscape company serving the Lancaster-Harrisburg region. We take pride in doing things the right way, treating customers well, and keeping our crews organized and supported.

We are looking for a dependable Landscape Crew Lead to lead a small crew of 1 to 3 team members on landscape installation and maintenance jobs. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows the work, can keep a crew moving, and is comfortable communicating with customers and the office.

We do not lay off in the winter. During the off-season, our teams transition into commercial snow removal, equipment maintenance, and facility maintenance.

What You'll Do

• Lead a crew of 1 to 3 team members on landscape installation and maintenance work
• Complete softscape installs, mulch beds, plantings, and pruning
• Build decorative garden walls and small retaining features
• Plan daily workflow and help coordinate materials
• Communicate clearly with customers and report updates as needed
• Help keep jobsites clean, organized, safe, and professional
• Support commercial snow removal in the winter
• Work snow events as needed, which may include overnight shifts, early mornings, extended hours, and changing schedules

What We're Looking For

• High school education
• Minimum of 2 years of landscape or related experience
• Professional attitude and good communication skills
• Basic math and measuring skills
• Experience driving a pickup truck and trailer combo is required
• Reliable transportation
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check after a conditional offer of employment
• Smartphone/data device capability for field communication
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions

Pay & Benefits

• Full-time, W-2, year-round employment
• Pay: $21 to $25 per hour, plus a strong weekly performance bonus
• Realistic feasible earnings of $55,000 to $70,000
• Overtime opportunities
• Paid vacation: 80 hours annually, plus an additional 8 hours after 1 year of employment, maxing at 120 hours after 5 years
• Unpaid vacation: 80 hours annually
• Paid sick time: 24 hours annually
• Health insurance reimbursement: one-half of the monthly cost, up to $150
• 401(k) match: 100% match on the first 3%, plus 0.5% on the next 2% contributed, for a total 4% match on a 5% contribution
• Paid holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve Day
• Employee referral bonus program
• Uniform program: covers 50% of the weekly rental cost. Employee contribution is optional and not required for the job.
