Job description

Ceres Landcare | Eagle & the Colorado High Country | Full time
Pay: $90,000 – $120,000 per year
Run high-end mountain landscape builds from groundbreaking to punch list, for the company that helped define the craft in this valley.
About Ceres Landcare

Ceres Landcare is the preeminent name in residential and commercial landscaping throughout the Colorado high country. We began as Land Designs by Ellison, founded by brothers Glen and Rich Ellison, who championed a new way to design and live in high-country outdoor spaces and built a culture of quality and craftsmanship into everyone they hired. That legacy carries on through a team of outdoor devotees drawn here by the same standard. From design and construction to maintenance and plant care, our depth of industry knowledge shows up on every project.

Our success comes down to two things: the people in the field getting the work done, and clients who have stayed with us for over twenty years.

Do your homework — check us out at cereslandcare.com.
What You Will Do
Run the work in the field
  • Translate plan details into the proposal and estimate, then build the sequence of work that drives material deliveries, equipment needs, and crew skill sets
  • Handle site conditions up front: utility locates, irrigation components, permits, DRB approvals and meetings, and coordination with other trades
  • Organize daily work and communicate expectations clearly to your crews
  • Manage day-to-day field operations across several projects at once, directing up to 16 crew members
  • Train your workforce for the work at hand, with safety and quality first
  • Lead site walkthroughs and close out punch lists so clients are satisfied
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget
Communicate and schedule
  • Build working relationships with architects, general contractors, property managers, homeowners, other trades, and Ceres teammates
  • Absorb unforeseen changes and resequence the day without losing productivity
  • Coordinate with other construction managers on crew capacity, vehicles, materials, and equipment
  • Schedule the other company departments involved in a job site build-out
  • Help schedule newly sold work into the existing operational calendar
  • Build detailed project schedules when a job calls for one
  • Attend team meetings covering design details, safety, morale, budgets, and scheduling
Handle the administration
  • Track client information through Aspire, Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Support accurate invoicing across Time and Materials, Lump Sum, Cost Plus, and Percentage of Completion
  • Document project costs and time tracking on schedule for owner progress reports and monthly billing
  • Onboard new crew members: time clock, tool storage, facilities, truck keys, safety, and general procedures
  • Support crew relations through onboarding, training, and reviews — recognition when it is earned, and help with disciplinary concerns when needed
  • Handle miscellaneous duties: distributing payroll checks, coding invoices, relaying announcements, enforcing company procedures
Own safety and quality
  • Insist on safety gear and safety checks, every day
  • Look for new ways to make the work safer
  • Communicate safety values and procedures to your crews
  • Run weekly equipment and vehicle inspections for function and safety
  • Demonstrate and insist on care, craftsmanship, and integrity in every aspect of the work
  • Meet productivity standards and finish work on time, improving efficiency without sacrificing the budget
What We Are Looking For
  • At least 7 years of field experience with proficient landscape knowledge across all aspects of installation
  • Capable of full jobsite management and the resource coordination that project completion requires
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with a focus on managing client requests well
  • Verbal and written English; bilingual Spanish is a significant plus
  • Valid Colorado driver's license and insurable under our company vehicle policy
  • Dependable: you arrive on time, cover your responsibilities, follow through, and go beyond when the job calls for it
  • Available through peak season, when time off is limited
Physical Requirements

This role is based on active construction sites and is physically demanding. Candidates must be able to:

  • Work outdoors in all Colorado conditions, including heat, cold, wind, snow, and sun exposure at high altitude
  • Walk and stand on uneven, sloped, and actively under-construction terrain for extended periods
  • Work at elevations above 6,000 feet, common across our service area
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, and climb ladders and equipment
  • Safely operate or ride in company vehicles across job sites throughout the day
  • Wear required personal protective equipment for the full shift

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.
