Job summary

Rotolo Consultants, Inc. seeks a Landscape Estimator to design and price landscape construction projects, including site analysis, grading, irrigation, drainage, plant selection, hardscape, water features, and lighting. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel is required.

This full-time onsite role at the Slidell corporate office offers $60,000–$70,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Contracting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in landscape design and estimating.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word required.
• Experience with Bid2Win preferred.
• Field experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings and specifications to determine project scope of work.
• Communicate with subcontractors, clients, and vendors regarding pricing and scope of work.
• Develop RFIs and coordinate with accounting for project setup and cost tracking.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and review takeoffs for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to determine project scope and analyze quotes.

POSITION OVERVIEW

AS A LANDSCAPE ESTIMATOR

The Landscape Estimator must be thoroughly familiar with designing all aspects of landscape construction, including site analysis, grading, irrigation, drainage, plant selection and placement, hardscape, water features, and lighting. The ability to develop designs using various software programs is required.

LANDSCAPE ESTIMATOR DUTIES INCLUDE

• Review construction drawings and specifications to determine project scope of work.
• Communicate with the Estimating Assistant to contact subcontractors when required.
• Communicate with clients regarding project pricing and scope of work.
• Communicate with vendors regarding materials required for projects.
• Develop RFIs (Requests for Information) for clarification of drawings and written specifications.
• Understand general accounting principles to properly set up awarded projects within RCI’s accounting software.
• Coordinate and review plans and specifications with assistant personnel to develop accurate takeoffs.
• Develop RFIs to clarify items provided in contract documents.
• Attend required pre-bid meetings.
• Review takeoffs for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors to determine project scope of work.
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for accuracy and completeness.
• Develop cost estimates for review by the Director of Estimating.
• Follow up with prime contractors and/or clients to determine whether RCI will be awarded the project.
• Assist Contracting with Job Cost Setup when a project is awarded.
• Conduct Project Turnover Meetings from Estimating to the Project Management Team.
