Job summary

Rockaway, Inc. is seeking a dependable Landscape Construction Crew Leader to guide enhancement and installation projects.

This hands-on leadership role focuses on delivering high-quality landscape work, supervising a crew, and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently to Rockaway standards. The successful candidate will lead by example, take ownership of projects, and communicate progress to Project Managers.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in landscape industry, preferably in enhancements or installations.
• Experience leading a crew on landscape projects.
• Ability to read and follow landscape plans and specs.
• Comfortable using tablets and basic technology on-site.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a landscape construction crew on enhancement and installation projects.
• Take ownership of assigned projects, production goals, and job quality.
• Ensure proper installation of plantings, sod, mulch, drainage systems, irrigation components, and hardscape features.
• Assist with project layout and execution according to plans and specifications.
• Maintain jobsite organization, safety standards, and quality control.
• Ensure crews are prepared with the proper tools, equipment, and materials each day.
• Communicate daily progress, jobsite conditions, and field needs with Project Managers.
• Train and mentor crew members on proper installation techniques and safe work practices.
• Complete required paperwork, time tracking, and job reports using company-provided technology.
• Support efficient workflow and timely project completion.

Landscape Construction Crew Leader

Enhancement & Installation Projects

$24-$30/hour | Based on Experience

Rockaway, Inc. is seeking a dependable and motivated Landscape Construction Crew Leader to lead enhancement and installation projects. This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on executing high-quality landscape work, supervising a crew, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to Rockaway standards.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their projects, leads by example, and takes pride in delivering exceptional results for our clients.

Schedule

• Monday-Thursday: Start at 7:00 AM until the day's work is complete
• Fridays: Available for make-up days, weather delays, or additional project work as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a landscape construction crew on enhancement and installation projects

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of landscape industry experience, preferably in enhancements or installations
• Previous crew leadership experience preferred
• Experience with softscape installations required
• Hardscape installation experience preferred
• Basic irrigation and drainage knowledge preferred
• Ability to read and follow landscape plans and project specifications
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
• Ability to lead by example and motivate a crew
• Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding work
• Comfortable using tablets and basic technology
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
• Valid driver's license preferred

Compensation

• $24-$30 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and leadership ability
• Potential sign-on bonus for qualified candidates
