You will perform measurements, mixing, and application while calibrating spray equipment and maintaining records. This position requires working outdoors in Texas heat and varying weather, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Must have ability to work outdoors in Texas heat, cold and changing weather conditions.
  • Hands-on experience measuring and applying chemical concentrates, including herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers.
  • Ability to read and follow product labels, safety instructions, and application requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect turf and landscaped areas to identify weeds, insects, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
  • Select appropriate treatments based on issue, plant material, product label, and site conditions.
  • Measure, mix, and apply herbicides and fertilizers; calibrate spray equipment for accuracy.
  • Follow safety procedures and regulations when handling, storing, transporting, and applying chemicals.
  • Maintain accurate chemical application records and monitor treatment results.
  • Communicate property conditions and treatment needs to the appropriate manager.

We have a company characterized by a hardworking, highly competent, and friendly team.Clean Scapes is hiring a Landscape Chemical TechnicianPOSITIONIn this role you will have overall responsibility for maintaining Clean Scapes contractual obligations on client properties regarding herbicide, pesticide, and fertilization management. Related duties include ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel assigned to chemical use and strict adherence to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Working outdoors will expose you to temperature extremes from over 100 degrees in the summer to below freezing in the winter. Pollen, dust and fumes from chemicals, glues, automobiles and power equipment are present dailyRESPONSIBILITIES:Inspect turf and landscaped areas to identify weeds, insects, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.Select appropriate treatments based on the issue, plant material, product label, and site conditions.Measure, mix, and apply herbicides, including pre-emergents, insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers.Calculate application rates and calibrate spray equipment to ensure accurate treatment.Follow product labels, required safety procedures, and applicable regulations when handling, storing, transporting, and applying chemicals.Evaluate weather, public exposure, and surrounding plant material before applying treatments.Operate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot spray equipment.Maintain accurate chemical application records and monitor treatment results.Communicate property conditions and treatment needs to the appropriate manager.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIESPrevious professional experience applying chemicals to turf or landscaped areas.Hands-on experience measuring and mixing chemical concentrates; experience limited to premixed products is not sufficient.Ability to identify common weeds, landscape plants, insects, and signs of turf disease or nutrient deficiencies.Working knowledge of herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers, including their uses and safe application methods.Ability to read and follow product labels, safety instructions, and application requirements.Ability to work outdoors in Texas heat, cold, and changing weather conditions.Ability to work independently, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with the team.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSActive TDA applicator license appropriate for landscape and turf applications.Previous TDA applicator license with willingness to renew or reinstate it.Chemical application experience in commercial landscaping, professional lawn care, golf courses, or athletic fields.Experience developing treatment plans and evaluating their effectiveness.Experience troubleshooting and maintaining spray equipment.LICENSESDriver license neededTDA Commercial Applicator License preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS (all required to be done for up to 10 hours or more a day):While performing the essential duties of the job, the position requires physical abilities such as heavy lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 50 pounds, manual dexterity, wrist-finger movement, digging using a shovel. In addition, working conditions include inadequate lighting, restricted movement, dirty environment, air contamination, extreme temperatures and weather conditions, intense noise, hazardous materials, or lifting or carrying heavy objects.
