Job summary

The City of Gulfport is seeking a Beautification Coordinator to assist the Landscape Manager in directing the beautification program, manage the greenhouse, supervise crew, and help design and install landscaping, irrigation systems, and related maintenance.

This non-exempt municipal role requires coordinating schedules, evaluating work, liaising with citizens and departments, and ensuring projects meet standards; the position emphasizes teamwork and service to the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in horticulture or landscape architecture.
• Six to eight years related experience and/or training in horticulture or landscape architecture;
• Five to seven years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Landscape Manager in designing healthy, well-maintained gardens and grounds.
• Provide supervision to the crew and oversee daily maintenance operations.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of landscaped areas, lighting, irrigation, and walkways.
• Oversee transport and planting of new vegetation; mulch, fertilization, and watering.
• Investigate work orders and citizen requests to resolve issues.
• Conduct quarterly and annual employee performance evaluations.
