Job Description And Duties

Under the direction of the Technical Services Support Branch Chief, the incumbent is directly responsible for inspection of highway planting projects and irrigation work to ensure that the work being performed is in conformance with the project's contract plans, special provisions, and standard plans and standard specifications. The incumbent provides technical support and assistance to Resident Engineers (REs), Construction Engineers (CEs), Planning, Environmental, Design and Project Management for various transportation projects. A valid driver’s license is required when operating state vehicles. The incumbent will be assigned work based on Divisional and/or Departmental needs and could be assigned to any office within District 3.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Caltrans Landscape Associate exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
