Job summary

HDR is seeking a Landscape Architect to contribute to the design and delivery of spaces and experiences that advance community well-being. You’ll join our Architecture practice and work on projects from healing environments to civic landmarks, collaborating with architects, planners, designers, and technical experts.

You will develop site designs, perform site analyses, meet client representatives, and ensure code compliance across disciplines, with a strong emphasis on employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering required.
  • Professional registration is required.
  • Experience with MS Office, AutoCAD and Photoshop.
  • Able to prepare site plans and understand grading and drainage.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Develop site designs through contract document phases of projects.
  • Conduct site analysis including operation, circulation, grading, drainage and amenities.
  • Meet with client representatives as needed.
  • Participate in code compliance reviews with utilities and agencies.
  • Conduct design development and contract document work sessions at project sites.
  • Coordinate workload to meet deadlines; review docs for conflicts; edit site design specs; select materials.
  • Provide contract administration as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Landscape Architect, we'll count on you to:
  • Develop site designs through contract document phases of projects
  • Conduct site analysis to include building operation, vehicular and pedestrian circulation, site grading, storm drainage design and site amenities
  • Meet with client representatives as needed
  • Participate in reviews with various utilities and governing agencies for code compliance
  • Conduct design development and contract document work sessions at project sites
  • Coordinate workload to ensure deadlines are met, reviewing documents for all areas of conflict with all disciplines, writing and editing site design specifications, selecting landscape and paving materials, and preparing drawings as required
  • Provide contract administration as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years experience
  • GIS knowledge helpful
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering
  • Professional registration
  • Experience with MS Office, AutoCAD and Photoshop
  • Able to prepare site plans and understand the principles of grading and drainage
